General
How can I order personalised jewellery?
You can place your order either in person with your local jeweller or online. Use our convenient tool to find a jeweller near you. If there is no jeweller in your area, you can place your order online and your order will be fulfilled by Head Office.
How will I know if my prints are good enough?
If you are unsure if your prints are of good enough quality for jewellery, you can always email us at info@smallprint.com and we will be able to assist you. With that said, if we receive your prints and we do not believe the quality is good enough, we will always contact you prior to making your order.
What is the jewellery made from?
All of our jewellery is made from Sterling Silver.
When will I receive my order?
Once we receive your prints, or if you have them taken in person, your jewellery will take up to three weeks to be handcrafted. If you need it by a specific date, kindly let us know before placing your order so we can prioritise it.
How do I get my prints to you?
Hand, foot, paw, and ink prints can be submitted via email or through our convenient uploader tool. If you need to send fingerprint or paw pad moulds, the jeweller will contact you with instructions on how to securely send your prints and provide the appropriate address.
Is there an age limit for prints?
We generally do not take fingerprints from babies under 5 months old, as their fingerprints are usually not fully developed. This also applies to our ink print kits. However, the hand and footprint kits are ideal from birth and are completely safe to use.
I can’t find what I am looking for on the website.
Our jewellery is completely made by hand so if you cannot find what you are looking for, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your ideas.
Is there a limit to engraving on the jewellery?
Typically, there is no limit. Our skilled Smallprint jewellers can position the engraving to accommodate most first names. Additionally, we can engrave a date of birth if you wish. Best of all, there is no extra charge for engraving.

What causes silver to tarnish?
Silver tarnishes naturally over time, and several factors can accelerate this process. Common causes include exposure to wool, certain foods (like eggs, onions, and mayonnaise), and specific paints. Additionally, silver tarnishes more quickly in humid environments.
Can I slow down the rate of tarnishing?
Yes, you can slow tarnishing by keeping your silver jewellery dry. Make sure to remove all silver pieces before showering or cleaning, and be cautious around chlorine, as it can permanently damage or discolor your jewellery at high temperatures. When not in use, store your jewellery wrapped in acid-free tissue to help maintain its condition.
How do I look after my jewellery?
To keep your jewellery looking its best, use the polishing cloth provided with your piece to remove any light tarnish. For more stubborn tarnish, gently polish with a silver polish. Chains can be cleaned using a silver dip, which is available at most hardware stores—this process is quick and will leave them looking sparkly and new. However, avoid dipping any engraved or printed pieces, as this could remove the antiquing from the print or engraving. Always store your jewellery in a cool, dry place when not in use to maintain its shine and quality.
How should I store my jewellery?
If you're not wearing your jewellery for an extended period or wish to keep it as a special keepsake, it's best to store it wrapped in acid-free tissue paper. This will help protect the piece from tarnishing and prevent scratches. Additionally, keep it in a cool, dry place, ideally in a jewellery box or pouch, to maintain its condition and shine over time.
Will my fingerprint piece scratch or dent?
Silver is a relatively soft metal, which means that items like keyrings and bracelet charms may gradually become dented and worn from contact with hard surfaces. For this reason, we do not recommend wearing charm bracelets daily. However, pendants can be worn every day, as they typically do not come into contact with hard surfaces.
